Turtles® Cake I

How do you make turtle poke cakes?

Turtle poke cakes are a decadent and delicious dessert that are perfect for any occasion. To make a turtle poke cake, you will need: one 15.25-ounce box devil’s food chocolate cake mix, one 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk, one 12-ounce jar caramel sundae topping, one 8-ounce container whipped topping (thawed), 1/2 cup chopped Fisher pecans, and 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Start by preparing the cake mix according to the package directions. Once the cake is baked and cooled, use a fork or skewer to poke holes all over the top of the cake. Next, pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the top of the cake. Be sure to get it into all of the holes so that your cake is nice and moist.

Now it’s time for the caramel sauce! Pour half of the jar of sauce into a microwave safe bowl or measuring cup and heat in 30 second increments until it is melted and pourable. Pour this over your cake, again being sure to get it into all of the holes. Allow this layer to set for a few minutes before adding your next layer.

For the next layer, simply spread an even layer of whipped topping over your caramel sauce. Sprinkle on top with chopped pecans and mini chocolate chips (or regular sized chocolate chips if that’s what you have on hand).

What’s a turtle cake?

Why is a turtle sundae called a turtle?

A turtle sundae is a combination of vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and hot caramel sauces, and toasted pecans. The name derives from the turtle candy, which consists of pecans covered with caramel and then dipped in chocolate.

The turtles got their name from the shape of the candies, which resemble small turtles. The original candies were made by hand, so each one was slightly different in size and shape. Today, most turtle candies are mass-produced, but they still retain their characteristic turtle shape.

Turtle sundaes are named after the candy because they share several key ingredients: pecans, caramel, and chocolate. These ingredient combinations are what give both the candy and the sundae their unique flavor profiles. If you’ve ever had a turtle sundae (or a piece of turtle candy), you know that these flavors come together to create something truly special.

Why is turtle cheesecake called that?

The turtle pie got its name due to the caramel, chocolate and pecans that are used to top the pies. These ingredients are said to have a similarity in flavor to that of DeMet’s Turtles, which use similar ingredients. The pie usually has a cookie crumb crust and is often made with a custard, mousse or cheesecake filling.

Why is turtle cake called turtle cake?

Turtle cake is a popular dessert that gets its name from its unique appearance. The cake is made of pecan pieces that are coated in caramel and then enveloped inside a glob of gourmet chocolate. When finished, the cake resembles a turtle with a large, chocolate-covered shell.

The original turtle cakes were developed by DeMet’s Candy Company in 1918. Since then, the company has continued to produce these delectable treats, which have become a favorite among sweet tooths everywhere. So why exactly are they called turtles?

Well, as mentioned before, it all has to do with the cake’s striking resemblance to an actual turtle. The large chocolate shell looks just like a turtle’s shell, while the pecan pieces resemble the creature’s legs sticking out from underneath. It’s really quite clever when you think about it!

Whether you’re a fan of turtles or not, there’s no denying that these cakes are delicious. If you haven’t had the chance to try one yet, be sure to pick one up the next time you see them available.
