5. In a very large bowl, cream the butter or margarine until light and fluffy.

6. Beat in sugar, a small amount at a time until all of it has been incorporated and the mixture is light and creamy looking..

7 Add beaten egg yolks to the butter mixture one at a time while mixing on low speed until just blended after each addition..

8 Mix in the flour mixture alternately with brandy beginning and ending with flour until just blended after each addition..

9 Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites into batter gently but thoroughly until no streaks of egg white remain visible.. 10 Pour batter into prepared pans filling each pan no more than two-thirds full to allow for expansion during baking . 11 Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for about 40 minutes
