Spritz Cookies IV

This recipe for spritz cookies is a classic holiday favorite. These delicate, buttery cookies are perfect for any holiday gathering or as a gift for friends and family. This recipe makes approximately 4 dozen cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (205 degrees Celsius).

2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the 3 beaten egg yolks and one teaspoon of almond extract. Mix until well blended.

3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt then gradually sift it into the butter mixture while stirring well.

4. Chill mixture for 2-3 hours until firm then using a cookie press, press out cookies onto a cookie sheet.

5 Bake in oven for 10 minutes
