Orange Cream Cake I

This is a delicious and easy-to-make orange cream cake that is perfect for any occasion! Made with a moist and fluffy orange cake, this recipe is filled with a rich and creamy orange filling. The best part about this cake is that it can be made ahead of time, so all you have to do is enjoy it!

Ingredients

  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package orange cake mix
  • 2 (3 ounce) packages orange flavored Jell-O® mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9×13 inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 package of orange flavored Jell-O®, milk, and vanilla extract. Beat on low speed until mixed together, then beat on high for 2 minutes. Pour batter into prepared pan.

3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cake to cool slightly before poking holes all over the top with a fork or skewer. Be sure to poke the holes all the way down to the bottom of the cake so that the gelatin mixture can seep in properly later on.

4a) For best results: In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil and stir in 1 cup of sugar until it dissolves completely. Add this mixture gradually to 1 package of orange flavored Jell-O® while whisking constantly, then pour it over top of your cooled cake immediately after making it according to step 3 above.* OR…
