Honey Bars
These honey bars are a delicious, healthy snack that are perfect for on-the-go. Made with just a few simple ingredients, they are also incredibly easy to make. And the best part? They’re naturally sweetened with honey!
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup honey
- 2 teaspoons almond extract or vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped dates or raisins
- 1 cup chopped almonds or pecans (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.
3. Beat eggs in a large bowl until thick and lemon colored. Beat in honey and almond extract or vanilla extract .
4. Gradually add in dry ingredients blending well . Stir in dates and almonds or pecans .
5. Spread evenly in the prepared pan . Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 12-15 minutes until lightly brown on top . Cool 2 minutes in pan . Cut into bars
6 When cool , sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar
