Sour Cream Sugar Cookies II

Sour cream sugar cookies are a delicious and easy to make treat. This recipe makes a soft and flavorful cookie that is perfect for any occasion.

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, lard and sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Add the eggs and beat well.

3. In a separate bowl, mix together the sour cream and baking soda, then add it to the egg mixture and mix well again.

4. Add the flour and salt to the mixture and mix until everything is well combined.

5. Wrap the dough in cling film or place it in a container with a lid and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes so that it firms up enough to be rolled out easily later on.

6. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (205 degrees Celsius).

7. Take the dough out of the fridge, dust your work surface lightly with flour if needed, then roll out the dough until it’s about ¼ inch thick (0.5 cm). Cut out shapes with cookie cutters as desired, then transfer them onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper or silicone mats spaced an inch or two apart (2-3 cm). If you find that the dough becomes too soft while you’re working with it, just pop it back into the fridge for 10-15 minutes before continuing – this will help firm it up again so that it’s easier
