Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 cup unsalted butter, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1 cup chopped walnuts, 1 cup rolled oats.

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat to make cleanup a breeze.

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Set it aside for now. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.

This might take a minute or two, but be patient – it’s worth it! Beat in those eggs one at a time, making sure each one is fully incorporated before adding the next.

Then, stir in that lovely vanilla extract. Gradually mix in the flour mixture from earlier, being careful not to overmix.

You don’t want a tough cookie, do you?

Stir in those delicious chocolate chips, chopped walnuts, and rolled oats. It’s starting to look like a Monster Cookie, isn’t it?

Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto your prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

You should end up with around 8 cookies. Pop that baking sheet into the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove them from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a crisper cookie, bake for 10 minutes. For a chewier cookie, bake for 12 minutes.
