Ingredients

Instructions

1. In a medium size bowl, combine the flour, ground walnuts or almonds, baking powder and spices. Set this mixture aside.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter or shortening with the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in one egg until fully combined.

3. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until everything is mixed together well. Then cover the bowl and chill it for 8 hours or overnight in the fridge.

4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Meanwhile, on a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness using a rolling pin . Cut out rounds with 2-inch round cookie cutter . Place cookies about 1-1/2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet .

5. Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown around edges . Cool completely on wire racks .
