Chocolate Covered Pretzels
The perfect sweet and salty treat: chocolate covered pretzels! These bite-sized goodies are ridiculously easy to make and pack a big flavor punch. With just a few ingredients, you can create a delicious snack that’s perfect for movie nights, potlucks, or just because.
Ready Time
2 hrs
Yields
7 servings
Ingredients
- 1 cup pretzels
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon shortening (like Crisco)
- Sprinkles or chopped nuts for garnish
Instructions
Line pretzels in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Notes
For perfect chocolate coverage, make sure to remove any excess moisture from pretzels before dipping.
You can do this by placing them in a single layer on paper towels and letting them sit for a few minutes.
Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet, as this can cause pretzels to stick together.
White chocolate can be particularly finicky, so if it’s not melting smoothly, try stirring in a little more shortening.
If using sprinkles or chopped nuts as garnish, sprinkle them on immediately after the chocolate is set, as they’ll stick better then.
Chocolate Covered Pretzels are best made just before serving or up to 2 days in advance – any longer and they might start to get a little stale.
You can easily double or triple this recipe if you need more.
