  • 1 medium lime (juiced)
  • 1 medium avocado (diced)
  • 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 jalapeno pepper (diced)
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 7 corn tortillas (6-inch)
  • Shredded lettuce (optional)
  • Diced radishes (optional)
  • Sour cream or Greek yogurt (optional)
  • Queso fresco or shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

Start by preparing the tuna mixture.

In a medium bowl, combine the flaked tuna, diced red onion, lime juice, chopped cilantro, diced jalapeno pepper, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

Mix well until all the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Divide the tuna mixture into 7 equal portions, about 1/7 cup each.

Warm the corn tortillas by wrapping them in a damp paper towel and microwaving for 20-30 seconds.

Assemble the tacos by spooning a portion of the tuna mixture onto a tortilla, followed by a slice of diced avocado.

Customize your tacos with your preferred toppings, such as shredded lettuce, diced radishes, a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt, or a sprinkle of queso fresco or shredded cheese.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t over-drain the tuna, you want it to still be moist and flaky. Make sure to finely chop that red onion, you don’t want big chunks in your taco.

If you’re not a fan of spicy, use just half of that jalapeno or omit it altogether.

Smoked paprika adds a nice smoky depth, but regular paprika will do in a pinch. Don’t be shy with the salt and pepper, you want that flavor to pop.

Warm tortillas are essential, it makes all the difference in the world.

If you’re topping with sour cream or Greek yogurt, add it just before serving so it doesn’t get soggy. You can also prep the tuna mixture ahead of time, just give it a good stir before assembling the tacos.
