Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
2. In a bowl, mix together 1 cup butter with 1/2 cup sugar.
3. In another bowl, mix together 1 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons molasses. Add this mixture to the butter/sugar mixture.
4. Add one egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and stir well.
5. Slowly add salt and baking soda while stirring the mixture constantly.
6 Stir in 2 cups all-purpose flour and 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips until evenly mixed throughout batter.
7 Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
8 Bake cookies for 9 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).
9 Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for about 3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack or plate to cool completely
