Cream Cheese Cut-Outs I

Looking for a festive and easy holiday cookie recipe? Look no further than these cut-out cookies made with cream cheese! These cookies are deliciously tender, and the cream cheese gives them a subtle tang. They’re perfect for decorating with your favorite icing or simply dusting with confectioners’ sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in the sugar until fully combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Add this to the creamed mixture, stirring until everything is well blended. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best).

When you’re ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Take one third of the dough out of the fridge (keep the rest refrigerated) and roll it out onto a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use your desired cookie cutter shapes to cut out cookies, then transfer them to your prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until firm but not browned around edges. If desired, dust with confectioners’ sugar while still warm.
