Ready Time

55 mins

Yields

5 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&M’s (mini)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Stir in the chocolate chips and M&M’s.

Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

You should end up with about 5 cookies, so grab one (or two, or three…) and get ready to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor.

Make sure to use room temperature butter for a lighter cookie.

If you want a crisper cookie, bake for 12 minutes.

If you prefer a chewier cookie, bake for 10 minutes.

You can also customize the recipe by using different types of chocolate chips or adding nuts for extra texture.

To freeze the cookies, place them in a single layer on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months.
