Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of active dry yeast, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add 1 cup of warm water and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
Add 1/2 cup of whole milk, 1 large egg, and 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the dough mixture.
Mix until the dough comes together and becomes smooth. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes soft and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal portions.
Roll out each portion into a circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Spread 1/4 cup of pizza sauce on each naan circle, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edges. Top with 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup of sliced ham, and 1/4 cup of sliced pineapple.
Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon of chopped fresh cilantro, 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano, and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bake the naan pizzas in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove the naan pizzas from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For a lighter and fluffier dough, make sure the warm water is around 100°F to 110°F.
Let the dough rise in a warm place, like near a window or in a pantry, away from drafts.
To get a crispy crust, bake the naan pizzas in the preheated oven for the full 12-15 minutes, or until they’re golden brown.
If you want a crisper crust, try baking the naan pizzas for an additional 2-3 minutes, but keep an eye on them to avoid burning.
You can customize your Hawaiian pizza by adding other toppings like diced onions or sliced olives.
For an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle some red pepper flakes on top of the pizza for an extra spicy kick.
