  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • For the slaw:
  • 3 cups shredded red cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the tacos:
  • 9 corn tortillas
  • Sliced radishes
  • Chopped fresh cilantro
  • Squeeze of lime juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper, leaving enough room between each fillet for even cooking.

In a small bowl, mix together paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Sprinkle the spice blend evenly over both sides of the haddock fillets, making sure they’re fully coated.

Drizzle the olive oil over the fillets, then squeeze a bit of lime juice on top of each.

Arrange the fillets on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through.

While the fish is baking, prepare the slaw by combining shredded red cabbage, carrots, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and honey in a bowl.

Toss to coat, then season with salt and pepper to taste.

Warm the corn tortillas by wrapping them in a damp paper towel and microwaving for 20-30 seconds.

Assemble the tacos by placing a piece of baked haddock onto a tortilla, then topping with a spoonful of slaw, sliced radishes, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice.

Season with salt to taste.

Serve immediately and get ready for a flavorful fiesta in your mouth!

Notes

Use fresh and high-quality ingredients, especially when it comes to the fish, to ensure the best flavor and texture.

Make sure to not overcrowd the baking sheet, as this can affect the cooking time and evenness of the haddock.

For the slaw, adjust the amount of honey and lime juice to your taste, depending on how sweet and tangy you like it.

If you want to add some extra crunch, throw some chopped pecans or walnuts into the slaw mixture.

Don’t overcook the haddock, as it can become dry and tough.

And finally, feel free to customize your tacos with your favorite toppings, such as diced avocado, sour cream, or diced tomatoes!
