Ready Time
25 mins
Yields
8 servings
Ingredients
- 1 pound refrigerated biscuit or croissant dough
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup diced ham
- 1/2 cup frozen tater tots
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the biscuit or croissant dough to about 1/4 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
Cut out circles of dough, about 3 inches in diameter.
You should be able to get around 8 circles. In a small bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar cheese, diced ham, frozen tater tots, chopped green onions, chopped parsley, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Place a tablespoon of the cheese mixture onto one half of each dough circle.
Fold the dough in half over the filling, pressing the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
Place the dough cups onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each cup.
Brush the tops of the cups with the melted butter. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Make sure to thaw the refrigerator biscuit or croissant dough according to package instructions before using. For a crispy crust, don’t overwork the dough when rolling it out, and make sure to keep the surface lightly floured.
To ensure the cheese mixture stays inside the cups, press the edges of the dough firmly together, and don’t be afraid to get a little aggressive with that fork when crimping! If you’re having trouble getting the biscuits to seal properly, try dipping your finger in a little bit of water and running it along the edge of the dough before folding it in half.
To make ahead, prepare the cheese mixture and refrigerate or freeze until ready to assemble the cups. Consider serving these adorable cups at a brunch or breakfast gathering, or as a fun snack for a party or sporting event.
