Yields

7 servings

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon grated cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

Slice each hard-boiled egg in half lengthwise and carefully remove the yolks to a bowl.

Mash the yolks with a fork until they’re well broken up, then stir in mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, horseradish, salt, black pepper, and paprika until smooth.

Stir in chopped chives and grated cheddar cheese, if using.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.

In a shallow dish, mix together panko breadcrumbs and garlic powder.

Spoon the yolk mixture evenly into the egg white halves, mounding it slightly in the center.

Dip the tops of the filled eggs into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

Drizzle the tops with olive oil and place the deviled eggs in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden brown and crispy.

Serve warm and crunchy!

Notes

For the best results, make sure to chill the yolk mixture for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

If you’re not a fan of cheddar cheese, feel free to omit it or substitute with another type of cheese that you prefer.

When coating the deviled eggs with panko breadcrumbs, gently press the crumbs onto the eggs to ensure they adhere evenly.

To ensure crispy breadcrumbs, don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket.

Cook in batches if necessary.

For an extra crunchy topping, you can spray the breadcrumbs with a bit of cooking spray before cooking in the air fryer.

Air fryer temperature and cooking time may vary depending on the model, so adjust as needed to achieve the perfect crunch.

These deviled eggs are best served immediately, but you can prepare the yolk mixture ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
