Yields
10 servings
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 10 small hamburger buns
- 10 slices of American cheese
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Pickles
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang for easy cleanup.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, cheddar cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Mix everything together with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined. Don’t overmix! Use your hands to shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) in diameter.
You should end up with around 30-35 meatballs.
Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each one to allow for even cooking. Drizzle with the BBQ sauce and gently roll them around to coat evenly.
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
While the meatballs are baking, toast the small hamburger buns on the oven rack or in a toaster. Once the meatballs are done, assemble the sliders by placing 3-4 meatballs on each bun.
Add a slice of American cheese, some lettuce, tomato, and a few pickles.
Serve immediately and get ready for a delicious BBQ meatball slider party!
Notes
In place of breadcrumbs, you can use oats or even crushed crackers for a different texture. The key to making tender meatballs is not to overmix the mixture – just combine everything until it’s just holding together.
If you want to get a head start, prepare the meatball mixture up to a day in advance and store it in the fridge.
To take these sliders to the next level, use a few different types of cheese, like cheddar, American, and mozzarella for a cheesy dream. For an easy shortcut, use store-bought BBQ sauce instead of making your own.
Keep an eye on the meatballs while they’re baking, as the cooking time might vary depending on the size of your meatballs.
You can also make these meatballs in a skillet on the stovetop if you prefer – just cook them over medium-high heat until browned on the outside and cooked through.
