Yields

10 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 quart water
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh strawberry slices for garnish

Instructions

Start by rinsing the sliced strawberries and pat them dry with a paper towel. Place them in a large pitcher and add the quart of water.

Let it infuse in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the strawberry flavor to seep into the water.

After the infusion, remove the strawberries from the pitcher and add the black tea bags. Let it steep for 5-7 minutes, or until the tea reaches your desired strength.

While the tea is steeping, prepare the simple syrup by dissolving the cup of granulated sugar in a small amount of hot water.

Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and add the simple syrup to the pitcher.

Stir well to combine.

Chill the tea in the refrigerator until it’s cold. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with fresh strawberry slices.

You can adjust the sweetness and flavor to your taste.

This recipe yields 10 servings, perfect for a refreshing gathering!

Notes

For a stronger strawberry flavor, you can let it infuse in the refrigerator for a longer period of time or use more strawberries.

If you prefer a lighter tea, you can steep the tea bags for a shorter time.

You can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste or try using honey or agave nectar as an alternative sweetener.

For a fizzy twist, try mixing the tea with some sparkling water for a refreshing summer drink.

You can also add a few slices of lemon or lime to the pitcher for a bit of citrus flavor.

This recipe is very versatile, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different flavor combinations to make it your own!
