  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes until the yeast is activated and frothy.

Add the sugar, flour, and salt to the bowl.

Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10-12 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.

Spread the melted butter evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Mix the strawberry jam and confectioners’ sugar in a small bowl.

Notes
