Shrimp And Broccoli
Savory, sweet, and succulent, this Shrimp and Broccoli recipe is a match made in heaven.
Quickly cooked in a wok or large skillet, this dish bursts with flavor from the soy sauce, olive oil, and grated ginger, perfectly balancing the tender shrimp and crisp broccoli.

Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
Add the broccoli to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, until tender but still crisp.
Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside with the broccoli.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, and grated ginger.
Pour the sauce over the cooked shrimp and broccoli, and toss to coat.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve immediately, dividing among 9 servings.
Notes
Use fresh broccoli for the best flavor and texture. Frozen broccoli can be used too, just thaw it first.
Make sure to not overcook the shrimp as it becomes rubbery and tough.
Cook until they turn pink. Chopping the garlic finely helps it to cook evenly and not to overpower the dish.
Adjust the amount of soy sauce according to your taste, some people like it stronger while others prefer lighter.
Ginger adds a nice zing to the dish, but you can omit it if you’re not a fan. You can serve this with rice, noodles or even on its own as it’s quite filling.
You can prep the broccoli and shrimp ahead of time, but cook them just before serving for the best results.
