Rolled White Cookies

This recipe is for rolled white cookies. The dough is made with flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. The cookies are rolled in confectioners’ sugar and then baked. They are perfect for holiday cookie platters or gifts!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

Instructions

In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs, milk, and lemon extract. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, and baking soda. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until everything is well combined.

Chill the dough for a short time (30 minutes or so) until it’s firm enough to roll out. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use your favorite cookie cutters to cut out shapes, then transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle each cookie with a little bit of sugar before baking.

Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes or until cookies are lightly golden brown around the edges. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
