Pecan Turtles® Bars

These Pecan Turtles® Bars are a delicious, easy-to-make treat that will satisfy any sweet tooth! Made with just a few simple ingredients, they come together quickly and can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups brown sugar, divided
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

2. In a large mixer bowl, combine flour, 1 cup of brown sugar, and softened butter. Mix at medium speed for 2-3 minutes or until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.

3. Pat the mixture evenly onto the bottom of an ungreased 13×9-inch baking pan and sprinkle pecan halves over it evenly.

4. Combine 2/3 cup of butter and remaining 1/2 cup of brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook while stirring constantly until the surface is entirely bubbly; cook for 1/2 to 1 minute more. Pour this into the pan, spreading it evenly over crust you made in step 3.

5. Bake in preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until entire surface is bubbly again; immediately sprinkle with chocolate pieces after removing from oven.. Let stand for 2-3 minutes so chocolate can melt; use a knife or spatula to slightly swirl chocolate around if desired before it hardens completely.. Cool completely in pan on wire rack before cutting into 48 bars using a sharp knife
