- 5 cups frozen pineapple chunks
- 2 cups frozen mango chunks
- 2 cups frozen banana slices
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup coconut water
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon spirulina powder
- 1 teaspoon hemp seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- Ice cubes (as needed)
Instructions
Add 2 cups of fresh spinach leaves to a high-powered blender and blend until they’re fully broken down and the mixture is smooth.
Next, add in 5 cups of frozen pineapple chunks, 2 cups of frozen mango chunks, and 2 cups of frozen banana slices.
Blend these fruits together until they’re fully incorporated and the mixture is frosty.
Now, pour in 2 cups of unsweetened almond milk, 1 cup of coconut water, and add 2 tablespoons of chia seeds.
Blend these liquids and chia seeds together until they’re fully combined and the chia seeds have expanded slightly.
Add in 1 teaspoon of spirulina powder, 1 teaspoon of hemp seeds, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice.
Blend these ingredients together until they’re fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
Add ice cubes to the blender as needed to achieve your desired consistency.
Blend the mixture again until the ice is fully broken down and the smoothie is the desired thickness.
Divide the smoothie into 10 servings and serve immediately.
Notes
For a thicker smoothie, add more ice cubes or a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
If you’re new to green smoothies, start with 1 cup of spinach and gradually increase the amount as you get used to the taste.
Make sure to wash your spinach leaves thoroughly before adding them to the blender to avoid any grittiness.
You can also customize this recipe by adding other fruits like berries or kiwi to change up the flavor.
If you don’t have chia seeds, you can substitute them with flaxseeds or leave them out altogether.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
