Ingredients
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 ¼ cups margarine, softened
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Cream sugar and margarine in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
3. Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Add to creamed mixture and mix until just blended. Stir in walnuts (optional).
4. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets .
5. Bake cookies for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are set and centers are soft.. Let sit briefly before transferring to wire racks to cool completely
