Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until it’s light and fluffy.

Gradually add the powdered sugar to the bowl, beating continuously until smooth and creamy.

Beat in the vanilla extract and salt until well combined.

Add the heavy cream, starting with 2 tablespoons and adding more as needed, until you achieve your desired frosting consistency.

Beat the frosting for an additional 2-3 minutes until it’s smooth, creamy, and spreadable.

Use immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Bring to room temperature before using.

Frost your favorite cake or cupcakes and serve to your delighted audience of 6!

Notes

For best results, use high-quality powdered sugar that’s fresh and not lumpy.

If you’re using a stand mixer, use the paddle attachment for this frosting.

Don’t overbeat, as it can lead to a too-thin consistency.

If you’re not using the frosting immediately, make sure to press plastic wrap directly onto the surface to prevent a crust from forming.

If you find your frosting too thin, add a bit more powdered sugar.

Too thick?

Add a little more heavy cream.

Experiment with different flavor extracts, like almond or coconut, to create unique variations.
