Yields

6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • lettuce leaves
  • tomato slices
  • pickles slices
  • mayonnaise or ketchup (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated cheddar cheese, grated mozzarella cheese, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Mix everything well with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined.

Don’t overmix! Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.

Flatten each ball slightly into a patty shape.

Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch of space between each patty.

Bake the patties in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they’re cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

While the patties are baking, toast the hamburger buns on the middle rack of the oven for about 5 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Once the patties are done, assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise or ketchup on the bottom bun, followed by a cooked patty, some lettuce leaves, a tomato slice, a few pickle slices, and finally the top bun.

Serve immediately and get ready for a delicious twist on a classic cheeseburger!

Notes

Make sure to not overmix the chicken mixture, as it can make the patties dense and tough. Use a thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) for food safety.

If you’re using a convection oven, you might need to adjust the cooking time and temperature accordingly.

For an extra crispy crust on the buns, try broiling them for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute after toasting. Feel free to customize your burgers with your favorite toppings, such as bacon, avocado, or caramelized onions! Leftover patties can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.

Simply thaw frozen patties overnight in the fridge or reheat them in the oven or microwave until cooked through.
