It’s a delicious and healthy way to start your day or fuel your afternoon.
Ready Time
5 mins
Yields
4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen apple chunks
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Ice cubes (as needed)
Instructions
Add the frozen apple chunks, Greek yogurt, milk, honey, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to a blender.
Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides of the blender as needed.
Add ice cubes if you want a thicker consistency, and blend until the ice is fully incorporated.
Divide the smoothie among four glasses and serve immediately.
You can garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top, if desired.
Notes
Use fresh or frozen apples depending on the season.
If using frozen, thaw them first and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
For a creamier smoothie, add more Greek yogurt or a scoop of your favorite protein powder.
You can swap the honey for maple syrup or any other sweetener of your choice, adjusting the quantity to taste.
If you’re not a fan of strong cinnamon, start with a pinch and add more to taste.
Feel free to add a handful of spinach or kale for a nutritional boost – the sweetness of the apple will mask the greens’ flavor.
Experiment with different types of milk, such as almond or coconut milk, for a non-dairy version.
For a thicker smoothie, add more ice cubes or a few frozen banana chunks.
Prepare the smoothie ahead of time, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 hours, and give it a good stir before serving.
