Ingredients
- For the Ribs:
- 2 pounds beef or pork country-style ribs
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- For the Buttery Ranch Dip:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Rub the spice mixture all over the country-style ribs, making sure to coat them evenly.
Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs until browned on all sides, about 5 minutes per side.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the ribs are tender and caramelized.
While the ribs are baking, prepare the Buttery Ranch Dip. In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, chopped dill, chopped chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Mix until smooth.
Stir in the softened butter until fully incorporated and the dip is creamy. Once the ribs are done, remove them from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the crispy country ribs with a side of Buttery Ranch Dip for a delicious and savory snack that’s sure to please!
Notes
For the ribs, make sure to coat them evenly with the spice mixture to get that perfect balance of flavors. If using pork ribs, you might need to adjust the baking time based on their thickness.
Also, don’t overcrowd the skillet, cook the ribs in batches if necessary.
When preparing the Buttery Ranch Dip, make sure to mix the ingredients until smooth and creamy, you don’t want any lumps! Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. To ensure crispy ribs, pat them dry with paper towels before rubbing with the spice mixture.
This will help the seasonings stick and create a nice crust.
Plan ahead, the ribs need about 30-40 minutes of cooking time, so factor that into your prep schedule. You can also prep the spice mixture and Buttery Ranch Dip ahead of time to save time.
This recipe serves 7, perfect for a small gathering or a fun snack for the family.
Consider doubling the recipe if you need to feed a larger crowd.
