Ready Time

25 mins

Yields

9 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups raw almonds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C). Line the air fryer basket with a piece of parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Rinse the raw almonds and pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Add the raw almonds to the bowl and toss until they’re evenly coated with the spice mixture.

Spread the almond mixture in a single layer in the prepared air fryer basket.

You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. Cook the almonds for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.

Remove the almonds from the air fryer and let them cool completely on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Once cooled, break apart any almond clusters and serve.

Notes

For the best results, make sure to dry the raw almonds thoroughly with a paper towel before coating them with the spice mixture, as excess moisture can affect the final texture. If you’re using cayenne pepper, start with a small amount and adjust to taste – it can get spicy quickly! To ensure even cooking, make sure to spread the almond mixture in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

You might need to cook them in batches, depending on your air fryer’s size.

Keep an eye on the almonds during cooking, as the cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model and the size of your batch. Once cooked, let the almonds cool completely before breaking apart any clusters – this helps prevent them from becoming oily or soggy.

Store any leftover roasted almonds in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
