Slow Cooker Ham

Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless ham steak
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1/4 cup cherry juice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup pineapple chunks (optional)
Instructions
Place the ham steak in a slow cooker.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, pineapple juice, and cherry juice.
Spread the mixture evenly over the ham, making sure to coat it completely.
Drizzle the olive oil over the ham, then sprinkle the minced garlic, dried thyme, and ground cloves on top.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the pineapple chunks on top of the ham, if using.
Remove the ham from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Use a slow cooker liner for easy cleanup! If using pineapple chunks, you can toast them in a 350°F oven for 10-12 minutes before adding to the ham for a caramelized flavor. If you prefer a glaze, cook the ham on high for the last 30 minutes to get a caramelized crust.
Let the ham rest before slicing to prevent it from drying out.
Slice against the grain for tender, easy-to-chew pieces. You can also serve with your favorite sides, like mashed potatoes or green beans, for a complete meal.
This recipe freezes well, so feel free to store leftovers for up to 3 months.
