Yields

10 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Mayonnaise or ketchup

Instructions

Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken breast, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped fresh basil leaves, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Mix everything together with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined; be careful not to overmix.

Use your hands to shape the mixture into 10 equal-sized patties.

Make sure the edges are slightly rounded and the centers are slightly indented, as this will help them cook evenly.

Brush the grill or grill pan with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Grill the patties for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they’re cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F.

While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise or ketchup on the bottom bun, followed by a cooked patty, a lettuce leaf, a tomato slice, and finally the top bun.

Serve immediately and get ready for a flavorful feast!

Notes

To ensure the burgers cook evenly, make sure to not overmix the mixture and shape the patties uniformly.

Keep in mind that the internal temperature of the burgers should reach 165°F for food safety.

For a crispy crust on the burgers, don’t press down on them with your spatula while they’re grilling.

These burgers will hold their moisture best if you avoid overcooking them.

The fresh basil adds a bright, fresh flavor, so don’t skip it! You can customize your burgers with your favorite toppings, but the lettuce and tomato add a nice crunch and freshness.

For a more golden-brown sear, brush the grill or grill pan with olive oil before grilling the patties.
