Snickerdoodles are one of my favorite cookies! They are so soft and have the perfect amount of cinnamon-sugar flavor. This is my third recipe for snickerdoodles and I think it’s the best one yet!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C).
2. Combine 1 1/2 cups white sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla and eggs in a bowl. Mix well.
3. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt until blended well.
4. Shape dough into 1 inch balls then roll them in a mixture of 3 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon set aside for this purpose..
5. Place the balls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets then bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set..
6 Immediately remove cookies from cookie sheets
