Orange Slice Cookies I

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 eggs

To make these orange slice cookies, start by creaming together the sugar and shortening till fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat well. Then stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda,and salt before stirring it into the creamed mixture. Finally, stir in the oats and candy slices.

Use a tablespoon of dough for each cookie, rolling it into a ball before placing it on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and let cool on wire rack.
