Fudgies II

  • -1 cup butter, melted
  • -1 cup sugar
  • -1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • -2 eggs
  • -1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • -4 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • -1/4 teaspoon salt
  • -2 cups all-purpose flour
  • -1 cup chopped walnuts


1. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter until light in color.

2. Gradually beat in the white and brown sugar on low speed (if using an electric mixer) until creamy and light.

3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract next.

4. Melt the chocolate in a small, heavy saucepan over very low heat; then stir it into the butter mixture.

5. Slowly stir in the salt and flour, being careful to combine thoroughly.

6. Stir in walnuts if desired for extra crunchiness!

7. Shape dough into walnut-sized balls; then make an indentation with your thumb into each cookie ball so that it forms a cup shape when baked.. This is what gives these cookies their traditional look!

8. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 degrees Celsius) for 10-12 minutes until just done – do not overcook! Cool on rack after baking
