These chocolate peanut butter bars are so good, they just might be better than the original! Made with a layer of peanut butter sandwiched between two layers of chocolate, these bars are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups peanut butter
- 3 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Take the 1/2 cup of butter and melt it over low heat, then add in the 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar. Stir these two ingredients together until they are mixed well. Now add in the teaspoon of vanilla extract and stir again.
3. Add in 2 cups of peanut butter and mix everything together until it is a smooth mixture.
4. Add in 3 cups of confectioners’ sugar and mix together until everything is combined well.
5. Press this mixture into an ungreased 9 x 13 inch pan with your fingers or a spoon so that it is evenly spread out over the bottom of the pan..
6 . Melt 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips either in a double boiler or in the microwave on 50% power for about 3 minutes, stirring often so that they don’t burn; once melted, spread this chocolate over the top layer of peanut butter bars
